The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that the war between them and Hamas is the world's first artificial intelligence and supercomputer war
IDF Intelligence Corps senior officer said that during its operation Guardian of the Walls, AI was the key component in the fight, and it was the first time that the operations rely almost entirely on the technologies.
They adapted the technologies that were already available on the market with their military intelligence. AI was employed to create centralised data to accommodate the analysis and aid in speeding up the search of crucial information for operations.
Israel has been quite unstable, which is why they chose to invest heavily in military technologies and AI. They prioritised algorithm-driven strategies with data collected from satellites aerial reconnaissance vehicles, field agents, ground intel.
IDF employed various technologies to collect data, like signal intelligence (SIGINT), visual intelligence (VISINT), human intelligence (HUMINT), geographical intelligence (GEOINT). These systems would send data to the supercomputer to perform analysis and strategy planning.
IDF also built systems that help the forces identify quality targets, predict the enemy rocket launches, detect suspicious objects, manage storage, control drones, and mapping. These indicated the full adoption of AI in warfare. IDF also thought that the technologies would help lessen civilian casualties
