DeepMind สร้างฐานข้อมูลโครงสร้างโปรตีนให้วิจัยได้ฟรี

DeepMind made the structure of human protein resources available free for researchers.
Last year an AI firm DeepMind discovered the innovative AlphaFold program’s prediction of human protein structures free for researchers to use. With an independent benchmark test that compared predictions to known structures, the system was able to predict the shape of a protein to a good standard 95% of time. This discovery has resolved a problem that scientists have long been researching and unraveling the secret of protein, which makes us understand our structure and to help elevate medical advancement.
DeepMind’s AI program, AlphaFold, has predicted the structure of nearly all 20,000 proteins expressed by humans, where researchers can use this dataset for further research for free.
With the aim to help scientists or researchers to increase their understanding of how proteins function, and their role in the fundamental processes of life. So they are better equipped to unravel the molecular mechanisms of life and accelerate our pursuits to protect and treat human health, as well as the personalised medicine, health of our planet, and making this tool open access will accelerate the power of research discovery and innovation for scientists around the world. Furthermore, the database has also been applied to study antibiotic resistance and the biology of the virus that causes Covid-19 as well.
We hope that this technology will somehow reduce morbidity and mortality in a variety of diseases happening these days as well as helping to extend our human life and become stronger.
