• จิม โครเซ่ นักดนตรี และนักแต่งเพลง ชาวอเมริกัน ได้แต่งเพลงนี้ในคืนที่เขาทราบว่าภรรยาของเขาตั้งท้อง โดยเนื้อเพลง "Time In A Bottle" นั้นวนเวียนเกี่ยวกับเรื่องความเป็นความตาย และแรงปรารถนาที่จะยืดเวลากับคนที่รักไว้ให้นานกว่านี้
• น่าเสียดายที่เวลาของจิมกลับหมดไปอย่างรวดเร็ว หลังจิมและเพื่อนนักดนตรีห้าคนจากโลกนี้ไปในเหตุการณ์เครื่องบินตกในปี 1973 จิม โครเซ่ เสียชีวิตด้วยวัยเพียง 30 ปี ทิ้งความโศกเศร้าให้กับภรรยาและลูกชายวัย 2 ขวบ
• หลังจากจิมเสียชีวิต "Time In A Bottle" ถูกปล่อยเป็นซิงเกิ้ลและสามารถขึ้นอันดับหนึ่งของชาร์ตได้สำเร็จ เดิมทีค่ายไม่เคยคิดจะปล่อยเพลงนี้เป็นซิงเกิ้ลเลย แต่ความหมายของเพลงกลับเชื่อมโยงกับการเสียชีวิตของจิมอย่างบังเอิญ "Time In A Bottle" นับเป็นอีกเพลงที่ประสบความสำเร็จมากที่สุดแม้จะเป็นช่วงที่จิมไม่อยู่บนโลกนี้แล้วก็ตาม
