This is our TU102 project, studying new media (วิชาบังคับ). We create this project because we want to present our faculty not only to the students who want to attend but also to everyone interested. We intend to use this platform because we believe this will be good for informative content compared to Facebook, Youtube, or Tiktok.
Hello everyone, we’re first-year students from BJM Thammasat (BJM16), named Boak and S. I guess you guys might be the parents or 17, 18 years old high school students who want to attend. We suggest whatever ages you are, it will be good if you called us P’Boak and P’S Kub.
At first, we decided to use Pantip due to several reasons; for example, it’s good for informative content, classic, and outstanding. However, we change the platform in our final step because I am more familiar with Blockdit, and I believe Blockdit is as good as Pantip. Besides, we are really sure that there is no group in class doing on this platform.
There will be "What, where, when, why, (who) and how sections"
This is one of the hottest platforms when people want to discuss, it is easier compared to others. We hope this will help you not much nor less.
Why should you attend BJM TU? (from P'S)
1. The courses are board (mentioned in “what”)
2. The internship is interesting
In the 3rd and 4th years, you might have an opportunity to send your resume and work with several TV channels. This is only an internship, so you might not get the salary, but this step will prepare your ability before you go to real work.
Experience is the most important thing you have gotta get from an internship.
A good internship might lead you to get the actual work after you graduated, or even when you are studying. Sometimes, your seniors from your internship might offer you a special work to get money.
3. The faculty provides you with more chances to do activities.
What is the most significant action BJMers always do is going to the shooting team. The 3rd and 4th-year seniors sometimes have to do a thesis for graduation, and they might call the 1st and 2nd years to help them. Knowing the seniors might give you a lot of things like I mentioned above such as experience, new friends, and special money. There will be a senior both from JC and BJM.
Cheerleaders and staff (kathakorn) are also allowed for BJM and JC. This was fun and outstood. If you attend, this will help you improve your patience, and working skills and also give you an incredible experience!
Besides, there is sometimes that you might have to work for other university shooting teams around Rangsit, including Bangkok University and Rangsit University.
4. Many events are set for BJMers only, which you will have to deal with during the study.
The first year will be a sports tournament for the university and there will be a BJM parade. The parade provides you with many roles to do according to the theme of that year; for example, my year has a magician parade. Being stuff is also an option.
Every 2 years, BJM will co-work with COMMART-CU. There will be an activity and sometimes creating projects together. COMMART-CU has such good students, so I believe both sides will be improved through the work.
Jc nest camp is one of the most famous camps for preparing into BJM and JC. If you attend in BJM, you will have a chance to be a member of setting up camp. Introducing faculty to the high school students, knowing some junior before they attend the faculty, and gaining experience from setting activities are what you will learn!
มีหลายปีมากนะครับ อันนี้เป็นปี 62
5. BJMers is good
There is code, senior, junior in BJM. It will simulate a family, brother, and sister. Sometimes, they will invite you to hang out, but for me, I ask my senior code mostly about work and also how my life should change and be.
On a bigger scale, as long as you always go to the university, it will strengthen the bond between you and the university. TU students after graduation will sometimes treat you better. To give you an example, I study in Suankularb, SK; people there give me a good experience, and senior after graduate treat me so good. I believe TU will definitely be like SK.
6. Exchange can be applied while studying at BJM.
I’m now looking for an exchange, so I can provide you with strong information. Firstly, exchange for the faculty is the major. You can see it in BJM website. There will be many universities to attend, but for BJM, I only found 2 universities (the other universities are for other international faculty such as econ, SIIT.
Secondly, the OIA TU is for the university. The OIA TU website also co-works with aboard university, so you can do a project with foreign students. Hence, you will have more opportunities to get the occupation from those universities. Even if there is no work for you, you still can use your work history to set in your resume.
7. There are a lot of facilities, I mean every facility in TU. I will give you in “where”
Who’s graduated and studied at BJM? (from P'S)
There are various professionals in many sections, but today we are just gonna mentioned celebrities because it is more well-known.

What will we study at BJM? (from P' Boak and S)
BJM is different from jc. The first thing that differs is that B.J.M. will study entirely in English. Besides that, B.J.M. will focus on producing communicators with integrated journalism skills. Creativity to keep up with changes in communication technology. I'm asking seniors what they have studied in other years.
They said that Year 1 and 2 will study all the basic subjects in Mass Communication, while in Year 3, they will be able to choose subjects according to their aptitude and interests. It will be divided into 2 tracks. Including people interested in writing, magazines, publications, and newspapers.
Another track is strategic communication. For those interested in media strategy planning. I want to work for an advertising agency, PR, or Media Planner, as well as multinational companies that need communicators with English skills.
Learn about communication like all communication arts, but add news writing and journalism. B.J.M will learn the basics of all kinds of media, whether online or offline.
Learning about advertising and public relations by studying marketing. It can be said to provide knowledge of both production and media management. Children will learn both the foreground and background of the mass communication industry. This faculty does not have majors to choose from, like in Thai journalism.
By the time I was in my first year, the first subject that I had to take was jm200, which taught me all the basics of being a journalist.
Because the courses are broad. You will learn the courses as follow.
Film is one of the most major courses. There will be two sections, including shooting techniques and strategies presented to the audience. The techniques might be light, grip, and angle; for example, which technique will be the best angle to portray the emotion through actor’s face.
The strategies presented to the audiences are simply “how to attract audiences”; for example, when you should release the content? what is your target group, and what will suit them?
Attending in BJM, writing basic skills is required and some courses might develop your writing skills. Essay writing skill is needed and you have to use them in every class.
This will benefit you after graduating. You can use it in real work and teaching, for IELTS, might give you so much money. The speaking skill, developed from writing, is also provided in the course.
The TU subject is the special subject in Thammasat, providing you with many skills for living, or maybe alternative skills for you. I believe BJMers will love to learn creative things and TU might answer that such as design skills, environment design, and health care. This also leads you to cowork with other faculties, improving your teamwork skill.
There are also courses needed besides JM provided. The PY and PO courses improve your thinking, you can understand others much better and it’s good for you to communicate.
The econ courses help you doing marketing and help you improve your selling, creating content and people will pay attention to
Exchange For anyone interested in foreign exchange. Faculty of Journalism. There are contracts for exchange students with many countries. Whether it's Germany, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, the Philippines which have the advantages of going to exchange under the contract of the Faculty.
That is, the faculty that is going to exchange abroad will be the Faculty of Journalism. And if the students choose to study subjects that are similar to the subjects, the faculty can be compared to transfer courses, which, in addition to, we can go to exchange abroad.
Each year there are students from abroad who come to exchange and study with us. For example, this year, there are more than 10 people from America, Taiwan, Japan and Indonesia.
134,000bath/year (โดยประมาณ)
What you will do after graduating?
Because there is no major and minor course in BJM, Most BJMers have many skills to use in real work. There are several occupations you could do.
Filmmaker / Director
In the first-year courses, some courses teaching film design is sometimes appeared, but not that much. In the third and fourth years, there are a lot because we have learned all the basics from the first year and it’s now the time to advance.
Interviewers, speakers
This might be one of the major works for BJM students. Whatever involving with speakers such as an interviewer, speaker, DJ, suits some students who love to speak and talk.
Editor
Even though the cut courses have not appeared during the study, there are work forcing you to do a presentation(slides), and video(cut) which will give you all those skills for this type of work
Sound engineer
The course also gives you about the sound skill, so some can do sound engineering. If you work as a sound engineer for the university activity before, there will be a higher chance. Some BJMers have become DJ and singers too.
Camera
There are angles, and how to do something good, and beautiful in this course, and I believe those skills can help you in terms of taking a picture.
Content creator
I assure you that there are many courses provided you work to get creative; actually, it’s every course you have to create your work related to what the professor taught us. If you work in real life, this practice can help you much and develop your forehand the others.
What is the difference between B.J.M and JC
The first thing that differs is that B.J.M. will study entirely in English. Another part that is different is the Faculty of Journalism, Thai language section, which is divided into 6 majors. But B.J.M. will focus on producing communicators with integrated journalism skills. Creativity to keep up with changes in communication technology
When will the admission start? (P’Boak)
Usually during the admission test of B.J.M. That exam time is not the same but it will be in this period.
This year, the first round R1 will be applied from November 15, 2021 to 17 December 2021
Seconds round R2 admission1 will be applied during 1-15 March 2021
And third-round R3 admission 2 will be applied during 1-7 May 2021
How many years does it take to graduate?
Usually, they study for 4 years, but if they are diligent or pass the exam in some subjects, they can finish 3 and a half years.
Where we study?
The study is in Thammasat Rangsit, and most events are set here instead of Thaprachan. There is more than a 1000 acre of overall area in TU, and more than 1000 kilometer of the usable area.
Thammasat Rangsit covers all the facilities.
Puey park for the people. TU students mostly come here and take a picture. There is a garden on the building to take a breath like you have your own Lumpini park in your university. You can have a seat in front of the pond too. The library and café are inside the building and noted that the elevator is also provided.
Puey park
Café in Tu (Starbuck is placed all around the university)
The van station is at the university. I personally use it to go to the victory monument but there are other stations to Bangkok and its perimeter such as Mo Chit.
Thammasat University is one of the first universities to use an electric car. They actually care about the environment.
Most areas provided parking areas for cars. Since I studied at TU, I have never dealt with the no-parking area problem.
Most BJMers live in condominiums around the university, but if I have to advise, just pick what you can afford.
How, writing P'S
I used the TU-get score (640) to register for the second (writing) round. At first, I believe the exam will give us two topics to write, like in previous years, but I find that there are two topics to write instead of one to choose from, so I cope with the difficult situation by planning the writing for 20 minutes and do the rest in one and half hours.
For preparing, I always read the journalistic topics the year before the exam to add more information about those that we have to test. On the other hand, I practice my writing skill through IELTS. Using the IELTS Exam library provides me with the exam for tests and examples from others who have high scores. There are a lot of comments guiding you to write in the below comment section.
How, PowerPoint presentation, P'B
This part was held as a special case because of the COVID-19 situation, the faculty has changed admissions 2 from writing exams to PowerPoint presentations and they require an English test score SAT English part more than 400.
They give a section about “the dilemma of journalism in Thailand” in which we will have to do research and make a slide presentation and send it to the teacher to select students to study in B.J.M and if we pass that we have an interview exam which is all in English.
How, Portfolio, P’Nook
There is a keyword from P’nook. You have to give all your attention to it. There is not only just putting your work and activities in it. Decorating is also essential and you have to have fun while running your port and it will be good.
Hope you will receive information about the entrance exam or know what B.J.M has studied and I hope that this information will help you to make a decision. Hope we will meet you all. from senior BJM 16
