The victims beg CSD to charge agent with deceiving into working in Sweden

Victims gathering together begged the CSD to charge the agent with deceiving them into working at a strawberry farm in Sweden. But it turned out to be a pack of lies.
Today (8 Jan 2024) a group of victims begged the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) to give evidence about the agent claiming that they could arrange work abroad, but it turned out to be a deception.
One of the victims said that they first heard the agent on a TikTok post about farming strawberries in Sweden and promoting the idea of working abroad in Sweden. Any audiences who were interested could apply and pay the application fee of 35,000 baht.
Aside from putting down a deposit on working abroad, the agent also claimed that monthly income would be deducted until it was fully 120,000 baht, when the victims started working in Sweden. However, it turned out that the agent did not arrange according to the claim. So, the victims decided to gather together at the CSD to complain about what they had encountered.
Another victim also claimed that because the agent was trustworthy and famous on social media and the documents for the strawberry farm and work permit were reliable, they decided to apply. Also, the application form was similar to the Ministry of Labour’s form.
Even though the victims knew that this method was illegal, directly applying to the Ministry of Labour (MOL) might fail. So they chose to apply to the agent instead because, according to MOL, skill assessment tests were required and the process was so long. And the victims were not comfortable with that process from MOL because they all had their jobs, so they had no time to prepare themselves much.
Moreover, the agent claimed that the process would only take 1-2 months after the visa passed, so the victims were comfortable applying to the agent.
However, the main reason for working abroad was because of the high rates of income, approximately 70,000-80,000 baht.
