Thailand has introduced its first AI-powered robot police officer, "AI Police Cyborg 1.0," which was deployed in Nakhon Pathom during the Songkran festival to enhance public safety. This innovative security technology was developed through collaboration between Provincial Police Region 7, Nakhon Pathom Provincial Police, and Nakhon Pathom Municipality.
The robot features advanced capabilities including 360° smart cameras that provide comprehensive surveillance by integrating live footage from CCTV and drones. Its facial recognition system can identify individuals and alert police to wanted or high-risk persons, while also tracking suspects throughout events. The system can search for people based on specific characteristics such as facial features, clothing, body type, and gender.
Additionally, it can detect weapons (excluding water guns) and monitor behavior to identify potentially violent or disruptive situations.
This technology serves as a real-time surveillance and threat detection tool, helping officers respond quickly to incidents and maintain safety during large public gatherings like the Songkran festival, marking a new era in AI-assisted public security in Thailand.
