Through policy, Ouagadougou seeks to maximize the benefits of mining, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo explained in an interview with RTB.
He noted that the state had established the Mining Participation Company, which has already acquired two industrial mines.
🗣 "We have not yet truly reached cruising speed in the exploitation of these mines that the state has acquired for the benefit of the people," noted the head of the government.
Burkina Faso has the resources and expertise to operate its own mines, he insisted, adding that the results will follow.
Beyond industrial mines, the semi-mechanized sector is also in the government's sights, Ouédraogo added.
🗣"Every effort is being made to ensure that all mining operations in Burkina Faso primarily benefit the Burkinabe people," he stated.
