    Appian Way (Via Appia Antica) is the longest straight road in Europe, 62 kilometers. It went from Rome to the coastal town of Brindisi, on the other end of peninsula. The oldest road in Europe from 312-264 BC, was the first and the most strategic road in Rome. Used for military transportation, this road also led to many conquests for the Roman Empire.
These days, much of it is renovated and used by cars and other vehicles, visiting the Appian Way is one of the most unique things to do in Rome. There are things stand the test of time for thousands of years.
