Ponte Sant’ Angelo
- 1.Once called the Aelian Bridge, but renamed to Ponte Sant’Angelo in the 7th century after the Archangel Michael statue was added to the mausoleum.
- 2.A 135 meters bridge built by Emperor Hadrian to link mausoleum to the city. It became a key route for pilgrims to St.Peter’s Basilica, later was adorned with 10 angel sculptures by Bernini during the Renaissance.
