- 1.While Rome may not be the birthplace of tiramisu, its presence and popularity in the city are undeniable. And Rome’s most popular tiramisu vendor is Pompi, does a range of alternative tiramisu types, from classic tiramisu to pistacchio, strawberry, caramel, and gluten-free tiramisu. The good thing is that there are several stores in different locations to choose from.
Although the true history of tiramisu is still unclear, however it’s widely believed, tiramisu was first invented in Veneto - Italy, at a tiny restaurant known as “Le Beccherie”. The owner, Robert Linguannotto, created a simple dessert that let the flavors speak for themselves.
