The Transformation from SIFF to ThailandIFF
The Surin International Folklore Festival (SIFF) was held annually in Surin Province from 2006 to 2016. In 2017, it evolved into the Thailand International Folklore Festival (ThailandIFF),
expanding its activities to include performances for peace throughout Thailand, from the eastern seaboard and the northeastern highlands to the southern peninsula, thus symbolically linking the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Over the twenty-year period, forty festival programs were organized, bringing together more than 4,500 participants from thirty-two countries and generating a substantial body of research and innovation.
