Momoko Sakura, the manga author of Chibimarukochan, passed away from breast cancer on August 15th.
อาจารย์โมโมโกะเลือกใช้ชื่อของตัวเองเป็นตัวละครหลักในเรื่องเพื่อแสดงให้เห็นว่า จิบิ มารุโกะจัง ไม่ใช่แค่การ์ตูนทั่วไป แต่ยังหมายถึงบทบันทึกชีวิตวัยเด็กที่เธอกลับมามองตัวเองอีกครั้งด้วยความคิดที่เป็นผู้ใหญ่มากขึ้น โดยหยิบเอาเรื่องราวและแรงบันดาลใจจากคนใกล้ตัวและเหตุการณ์ทางสังคมยุคนั้นมาเป็นวัตถุดิบในการเล่าเรื่อง
The author, Momoko, chose to use her name as the main character in the story to show that Chibimarukochan is not only an ordinary manga, but also refers to a record of her childhood in which she looks at herself again with a more mature mindset by taking stories and inspiration from close people and social events of that era as material in the storytelling
เวอร์ชันมังงะของ จิบิ มารุโกะจัง ถูกตีพิมพ์ออกมาทั้งหมด 16 เล่ม กลายเป็นการ์ตูนสำหรับผู้หญิงที่มียอดขายสูงสุดเป็นลำดับที่ 5 ของประเทศญี่ปุ่น และถูกนำมาสร้างเป็นแอนิเมชันออกอากาศทางโทรทัศน์มาจนถึงปัจจุบันด้วยจำนวนมากกว่า 1,000 ตอน
A total of 16 volumes of Chibimarukochan's manga have been published, making it the fifth highest selling female manga in Japan. Today it is broadcast as a television animation program with more than 1,000 episodes.
