5G ถอยไป 6G มาแล้ว จีนพัฒนาเครือข่าย 6G ได้สำเร็จ
Purple Mountain Laboratories ห้องปฏิบัติการที่ได้รับการสนับสนุนโดยรัฐบาลจีนในหนานจิงได้ออกมาเปิดเผยว่า ทางแลปได้พัฒนาเทคโนโลยีการสื่อสารไร้สายความเร็วระดับ 6G ได้สำเร็จเป็นที่เรียบร้อยแล้ว ถือเป็นความสำเร็จครั้งใหม่ที่พาเราก้าวเข้าสู่ยุคต่อไปของการสื่อสารแบบไร้สาย
เครือข่าย 6G นั้นพัฒนาขึ้นในระบบการสื่อสารไร้สายเรียลไทม์บนย่านความถี่เทอราเฮิร์ตซ์ (Teraherts) ขนาด 360-430 กิกะเฮิร์ต (GHz) ที่จำลองขึ้นในห้องแลป และสามารถประสบความสำเร็จที่ความเร็วในระดับ 100/200 กิกะไบต์ และมีความเร็วได้สูงสุดถึง 206.25 กิกะไบต์ต่อวินาที ถือเป็นความเร็วสูงสุดเท่าที่เคยมีการรายงานต่อสาธารณะ และมีความเร็วกว่า 5G ราว 10-20 เท่าเลยทีเดียว โดยความสำเร็จครั้งนี้เป็นการร่วมมือกันระหว่าง China Mobile บริษัทโทรคมนาคมรายใหญ่ของจีนและมหาวิทยาลัย Fudan University
ความเร็วในระดับของเครือข่าย 6G สามารถนำไปพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีที่มีประโยชน์ได้หลากหลาย เช่น เทคโนโลยีที่กำลังมีอิทธิพลขึ้นเรื่อย ๆ ในปัจจุบันอย่าง VR (Virtual Reality) ที่จะมีบทบาทสำคัญในโลกของ Metaverse หรือเป็นพื้นฐานของการพัฒนาการสื่อสารแบบโฮโลแกรมในอนาคต นอกจากนี้ 6G ยังช่วยพัฒนาการสื่อสารทางดาวเทียม และการสื่อสารออกไปนอกอวกาศให้มีประสิทธิภาพมากยิ่งขึ้น
และที่สำคัญความสำเร็จในครั้งนี้ยังสามารถเข้าไปช่วยพัฒนาระบบ 5G ให้มีความเร็วมากยิ่งขึ้น โดยนำไปพัฒนาร่วมกับเครือข่ายใยแก้วนำแสงที่มีอยู่แล้ว เพื่อช่วยให้เข้าถึงเครือข่ายความเร็วสูงพิเศษที่มีความเร็วราว 100-1,000 กิกกะไบต์ ที่จะสามารถทดแทนเครือข่ายใยแก้วนำแสงแบบเก่า รวมถึงใช้แทนสายเคเบิลจำนวนมหาศาลใน Data Center นำไปสู่การประหยัดพลังงานและต้นทุนได้สำเร็จ
ปัจจุบัน 5G เองก็ยังไม่ได้มีการใช้อย่างกว้างขวางครอบคลุมทุกพื้นที่ในโลก แต่ก็มีการพัฒนา 6G มารองรับแล้ว เราอาจจะได้เห็นเทคโนโลยีใหม่ ๆ ที่จะเปลี่ยนโลกของเราไปอีกมากเลยทีเดียวครับ
Chinese laboratory achieves 6G speed wireless communication.
Purple Mountain Laboratories, an institute in Nanjing backed by the Chinese government, announced that it achieved 6G real-time wireless communication. It is a major achievement that leads us to the next generation of wireless communication.
6G was developed within a frequency band of experimental 360-430 GHz terahertz real-time wireless transmission communication in the laboratory. It achieved a speed of 100/200 Gbps and the highest speed of 206.25 GB per second. It is the highest speed that has been publicly reported in the world and even 10-20 times higher than 5G. With the collaboration between China mobiles, China’s telecom giants, and Fudan University, 6G breakthrough has been achieved.
6G transmission speed offers a lot of application prospects. It will be utilised with the faster transmission of innovative applications such as VR (Virtual Reality), an essential tool for Metaverse. 6G will also be the foundation technology for future holographic communication, and it will even extensively facilitate better communications between satellites and in space.
This achievement also benefits the existing networks. We can integrate it with existing fibre optical networks to expand the access to 100-1000Gbps ultra-high-speed wireless communication to replace an existing network and a large number of cables in the data centre, which eventually and significantly reduces costs and power consumption.
5G isn’t even rolled out around the world yet, but 6G is around the corner. We can now expect to see a lot of game-changer innovations lining up.
