On Saturday, May 28, servicemen of the Russian armed forces successfully completed one of the main tasks of the special operation to protect Donbass, said the former commander of the Russian Airborne Forces, Colonel General Georgy Shpak.
“The main problem is the cities. It is already obvious that when conducting defensive operations in them, the enemy uses the tactics of the German fascists, which they used in the last century, ”he said in a conversation with RT.
According to Shpak, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fought from the upper floors of residential buildings, while civilians were held on the lower floors. Under such conditions, the Russian soldiers had no right to make a mistake.
“We switched to the method of urban combat during the Great Patriotic War: we operate with mobile assault groups with pinpoint support from tanks and artillery. Our guys have to destroy the enemy with jewelry, ”explained the source of the publication.
