น้ำตกหมันแดง

Man Daeng Waterfall is situated within Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park in Phitsanulok Province.

This impressive waterfall features over 32 tiers, though visitors can only access and view tiers1 through9.The waterfall boasts a continuous flow of water year-round,sourced from the summit of Phu Man Mountain. Each tier is named based on its unique traits and characteristics, and the waterfall is encircled by lush, pristine forest. Unlike many other waterfalls, the tier numbering of Man Daeng Waterfall begins at the top tier and descends to the bottom, as the water cascades into the ravine below.
The trail leading to the waterfall can become quite steep and slippery during the rainy season, making leech socks necessary due to the abundance of leeches at this time. Those wishing to visit must contact the staff at Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park. We set off from the headquarters of Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park around 9:00 AM (remember to bring drinking water—one bottle for each person, provided by the staff). We traveled in a park pickup truck along the Phu Hin Rong Kla-Lom Kao route.
Upon reaching kilometer marker 18, we turned left to access the hiking trail to the waterfall, approximately a 2-kilometer trek to reach Tier 1. After rainfall the previous night, leeches were plentiful along the route, often jumping onto our legs. They would also cling to our necks and hair as we navigated through branches and foliage. As a group, those at the back helped check for leeches on their fellow hikers and applied anti-leech repellent.
However, if you are not bothered by them, they can be removed and squeezed. The path was muddy and extremely slippery on the day of our visit, with some steep sections requiring ropes for descent. As we trekked, we encountered various plants and trees, although we mostly focused on avoiding leeches rather than fully appreciating the natural beauty around us.
The distances from Tier 1 to subsequent tiers are relatively consistent, but the trail is challenging, with wet and muddy conditions, both uphill and downhill. We paused for lunch at Tier 5, where large rocks provided ample space for us to sit in a circle and eat. Staff members handed out lunch boxes, and after finishing our meal, we were able to take a refreshing swim in the waterfall's pool.
We spent approximately thirty minutes enjoying lunch, taking photos, and then continued our journey to Tier 8, which is stunning and definitely worth the effort. We took numerous photos there before heading to our final destination, Tier 9 of Man Daeng Waterfall. Although we couldn't get as close to this tier as we did with the previous ones, we took a few photos before deciding to turn back and rest. After leaving Tier 9, we still faced a 2-kilometer hike to exit the forest.
After leaving Tier 9, we still faced a 2-kilometer hike to exit the forest. The last point we passed was Lan Wua (Cow Field), where leech activity was higher. Luckily, since the sun was out on the day of our hike, there were fewer leeches in that area. Continuing another 100 meters, we reached the waiting pickup truck to take us back to our accommodation. Before boarding, we washed our hands and feet in the stream and discovered that our shoes were completely covered in leeches.
Once in the pickup truck, we learned we were now in Phetchabun Province at Phu Thap Boek. The return journey to our accommodation at Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park took approximately another 2 hours.
