2,200 years ago, China used chromium-plated swords. In 1937, Germany discovered chromium.

In 1950, the United States patented it.
University College London, in collaboration with the Qin Shi Huang Museum of Soldiers and Horses, analyzed the chromium content of bronze swords, bronze arrowheads, scabbards, and other vessels using a microscope.
This was followed by X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis to analyze the chromium content in bronze.
In 1994, China discovered a chromium-plated bronze sword,
dated the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC), which had a 10-micron-thick chromium salt compound on its surface.
The bronze sword, which is hard and tough, measures 86 centimeters in length and has eight edges, and carbon-14 testing indicates it is over 2,200 years old.
In 1937, Germany was able to extract chromium metal by oxidation.
The world's first successful chromium salt deposition.
In 1950, the United States applied for a chromium patent.
Interesting Background: On October 6, 1898, China and Germany signed the "Jiaoao Water Leveling Agreement."
This agreement granted Germany possession of land and water in Qingdao, Shandong Province.
These agreements included the "Jiaoao Land Lease Agreement" and the "Jiaoao Tide Leveling Agreement."
The agreement divided and designated a 100-mile distance from the water table of Jiaozhou Bay.
