🧙♂️ Chapter 7: Harry Potter and the Warmest Beer in Tokyo
(Day 7)
I woke up in Machida to a strangely quiet alley — nothing like the lively chaos of last night. It felt as if the whole town was recovering from its own nomikai hangover.
My hotel didn’t serve breakfast, so I wandered out and found a tiny local restaurant. I started the day with rice and saba — the kind of comforting meal that gently says, “Relax, today will be kind to you.” As always, I chose cozy over famous.
「落ち着く」(calming) has always been my brand.
Today’s mission: unleash my inner child at the Harry Potter Studio Tour.
In front of the gate, people gathered as if a grand magical ceremony was about to begin. But in reality, everyone was just lining up patiently to have their tickets checked — one by one.
Very Muggle.
Inside, every corner was filled with original sets and props from the films. It truly felt like stepping into the wizarding world. At one point, I caught myself whispering, “Am I dreaming?” like a confused Hogwarts freshman seeing the castle for the first time.
After slowly drifting through the crowds, I somehow found myself standing in a very long line for the legendary sweetness known as “the warmest beer in Tokyo.”
Butterbeer — served in a clear cup that looked like it had time-traveled straight from the 1800s.
The drink was perfect: warm, sweet, and dangerously addictive.
But the souvenirs? Even more dangerous.
I tried to stay calm, observing myself like a scientist:
Stay cool. Don’t repeat the onsen-town incident.
…And yet, I walked out with a big bag of souvenirs anyway.
「しょうがないね」— it can’t be helped.
Back at the hotel, I ate a cup noodle in silence, surrounded by all the magical treasures I never planned to buy.
Alone, but not lonely — not in the most chaotic city in Japan, where even a warm cup of fake wizard beer can make your day feel completely enchanted.
