AI created Harry Potter based on what exactly described in the book.
When a fan found that Hermione's cast, Emma Watson, is too beautiful compared to the description in the book, she decided to use AI to create the portrait of Harry Potter characters based exactly on the book.
One thing that watching a movie can't give us but reading a book can is that it spurs our imagination. We find no boundary when it comes to visualizing and vivifying characters and places described in a book. For Harry Potter fans, all of you might have your own mental images of how your favorite characters looked before it was visualized in the movie. We might see the same picture or not, depending on individual imagination.
A Reddit and Potterhead user named "lettuceown" is another person who sees a different image from what is portrayed by the cast. She found that Emma Watson is too gorgeous compared to what described Hermione in the book and, despite going through plenty of illustrations, she couldn't find any rendition that matched her mental image.
She decided to create the book-accurate version of Hermione using a collaborative AI tool, Artbreeder, that allows users with little to no artistic background to generate or modify their own art pieces of faces, landscapes, and paintings. For creating faces, all users need to do is to input the information about 30 attributes such as age, skin tone, emotional expression, ethnics via comprehensive slide bars or by typing decimal numbers.
 
Lettuceown posted her book-accurate renditions of Hermione on Reddit and received great support, so she continued to produce another 30 characters.
